The new electric Volkswagen ID.3 is a rear-wheel drive hatchback in the Pure configuration. The car is based on the MEB platform, which will be the basis for a large number of future electric vehicles. The ID.3 is the first car of the concern built on the MEB (German Modularer E-Antriebs-Baukasten) modular platform, which is designed exclusively for electric cars. According to the idea of ​​the authors, ID.3 is a continuation of the line of VW Beetle and VW Golf as really mass cars.

Externally, the ID.3 is significantly different from other cars in the Volkswagen line.
